Question of the day: 6-9-17

Question: In 1871, the Great Chicago Fire is rumored to have accidentally been started by what?

Answer: Mrs. O’Leary’s Cow.  The story is told in a children’s song of the same name; Catherine O’Leary was an Irish immigrant, and it was rumored that her cow kicked over a lantern while being milked.  The actual cause of the fire is unknown, though it did originate in the O’Leary family barn.

(This is, incidentally, where the team from yesterday’s question gets its name.)
