Question of the day: 6-6-17

Question: Released in November 2011, this tablet was intended to compete with the brand-new iPad by doing more than just reading e-books.

Answer: The Kindle Fire. Unlike previous Kindles, it was a tablet and not an e-reader. The original retail price of the Fire was also lower than its cost to produce; Amazon sold them at a loss with the intention of making  their money on digital content.
