Question of the day: 5-18-17

Question: On 28th Street between Broadway and Sixth in Manhattan, you will find a plaque commemorating this legendary musical location.

Answer: Tin Pan Alley. It officially started in 1885, when several music publishers set up shop in the same area.  The exact origin of the name is unclear, but some speculate that it had to do with the sound of several pianos all playing different songs at once, making a noise like banging tin pans.
